Somizi Mhlongo, the renowned South African media personality, is currently on a delightful daddy-daughter vacation in sunny Mauritius with his daughter, Bahumi Madisakwane.
The pair are enjoying their time at the luxurious One and Only Le Saint Geran, surrounded by close friends and family.
In a recent Instagram post, Mhlongo shared videos and photos from their island escape, giving fans and followers a serious case of FOMO (fear of missing out).
He expressed his need for a holiday to recover from his recent European vacation, stating, “Came back from my European vacation tired. So I was like, I need a holiday to recover from a holiday. An island will do. Daughter, let’s go. I’m tired of talking to myself.”
The father-daughter duo has been making the most of their time together, enjoying activities such as synchronised swimming at the hotel’s pool.

Mhlongo humorously captioned a video of their swimming session, saying, “Representing 🇿🇦 at the sinkwanysed swimming championships.”
Their vacation has been filled with lazy summer days spent poolside and at the beach, where they savoured the island’s local flavours.
They also celebrated a family birthday at the hotel, adding to the joyful atmosphere of their getaway.
As a fashion designer, he has been showcasing his unique style throughout the trip.
He shared snaps of his outfits for various occasions, including an eye-catching African print co-ord set that features a kaftan, wide-leg pants, and a matching shirt.
In another post, he recounted a chance encounter with the esteemed designer @gavinrajah at Dubai airport, who encouraged him to pursue his fashion dreams.
Mhlongo quoted Gavin, saying, “Keep on keeping on with your fashion dream. Ignore the noise and most importantly, have photoshoots in your designs on your travels.”

He expressed gratitude for this advice, stating, “I’d like to say, hey Gavin, I’m a good listener. And thank you.”
Mhlongo has been on vacation for over 20 days, having travelled solo to Europe before heading to Mauritius.
His European tour included visits to iconic cities such as Paris, France, and Monte Carlo in Monaco.
Reflecting on his solo adventures, he encouraged others to embrace travel, saying, “Take that solo trip. Meet strangers. Sometimes kiss them. Make new friendships. Ask a stranger to take a pic. Go have lunch at restaurants because you saw the Kardashians or LeBron James eating there without even worrying about what the food tastes like.
“Walk to the front row of a line at a club dressed like you belong there and watch them taking you to a table you never booked. And you party like there’s no tomorrow.
“Take walks till you get lost, but safe enough to request an Uber once you’re tired. Have conversations with yourself about everything and anything. Be in the moment. Money can be replaced. Time can’t be.”
