The best way to ring in the New Year is through an unforgettable family adventure.

South African radio presenter and voice-over artist, Carol Ofori, recently shared snippets of her family vacation in Kenya on Instagram.

Ofori celebrated the arrival of 2026 with her husband and two children, creating lasting memories in the picturesque coastal town of Malindi.

“Ofori’s in a new hood 😍,” she announced, inviting her followers to join in on their exciting journey.

The family kicked off their Kenyan adventure with thrilling activities such as quad biking and camel riding on the stunning dunes along Malindi’s beaches.

Following their adrenaline-pumping escapades, the Oforis embarked on a blue safari, where they snorkelled and explored the breathtaking coastline and vibrant marine life that Malindi has to offer.

They indulged in a delicious meal of fresh fish and prawns, all prepared during a seaside braai, enhancing their experience of local flavours.

“Blue Safari 😍🇰🇪 Happy New Year’s Eve insta fam ❤️,” Ofori shared, capturing the joy of the occasion.

She also posted a postcard of the family enjoying their time at a resort in Malindi, showcasing the beauty of their surroundings.

The adventures didn’t stop there; the family spent a day exploring the rich history and culture of Malindi.

“A full day exploring the town of Malindi,” Ofori described, as she shared pictures of their visits to iconic sites including the Vasco Da Gama Pillar, Malindi Museum, Golden Beach – known for its shimmering sands – and Hells Kitchen, often referred to as Kenya’s Grand Canyon.

Malindi, located on the shores of Malindi Bay in southeastern Kenya, is renowned for its tropical beaches, luxurious resorts, and proximity to the Malindi Marine National Park and Watamu Marine National Park, both of which are home to turtles and colourful fish.

The nearby Arabuko-Sokoke Forest Reserve is a haven for elephants and over 200 species of birds, while the Gede Ruins offer a glimpse into the remnants of an ancient Swahili town.

Last year, the Oforis welcomed the New Year with a trip to Zimbabwe, where they were mesmerised by the breathtaking Mosi-oa-Tunya, popularly known as Victoria Falls.

Although Ofori does not subscribe to New Year’s resolutions, she emphasised the importance of self-reflection.

Every year on her birthday, January 14, she engages in a personal conversation with herself to assess her dreams and aspirations.

“Those are kind of my resolutions in a way. I have that conversation, and I try to make as many of those dreams come true as possible,” she shared, highlighting the significance of setting intentions for the year ahead.
