Miss South Africa 2020, model, author, and mental health advocate Shudufhadzo Musida has once again inspired her followers after proudly showcasing her impressive list of academic qualifications.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Shudufhadzo gave fans a glimpse into her love for learning by sharing several certificates and degrees she has earned over the years. In her first slide, she posted a photo of a certificate from a short course she completed at the University of Cape Town. The course, which took 100 hours to complete, was offered under the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment and focused on Property Development and Investment. She was awarded the certificate in October 2021.
In the caption of the post, Shudufhadzo humorously reminded her followers that education is a continuous journey for her. She wrote, “Lol fun fact I study every year even when I’m not pursuing a degree.”
In the second slide, the former beauty queen shared another certificate, this time from “The London School of Economics and Political Science,” further highlighting her international academic exposure.
Shudufhadzo then moved on to her formal university qualifications. In her third slide, she revealed that she earned her first degree in philosophy, politics and science from the University of Pretoria. She later went on to obtain her Honours degree in International Relations from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2020.
In the same slide, she proudly detailed her academic achievement, writing, “Degree 2: Honours! Thesis: Nexus between human security and hydropower projects in the DRC and Ethiopia.” The topic reflected her deep interest in global development, human security, and African political issues.
Shudufhadzo also shared a personal moment, crediting her upbringing for allowing her to explore her passions freely. In her Instagram Story comments, she said, “lol my mom gave me freedom to be whatever I wanted.”
Adding to her long list of achievements, the 29-year-old revealed that she is currently preparing to obtain her Master’s degree. She excitedly shared, “Anyway Masters loading this summer.” Shudufhadzo is studying towards a Master of International Affairs (MIA) at Columbia University in New York.
As an advocate for both education and mental health, Shudufhadzo continues to use her platform to encourage young people to pursue knowledge fearlessly. In a previous interview with TimesLIVE, she opened up about her experience studying abroad, saying, “Living in New York has been one of the greatest gifts of my life.”
She added, “I’m focusing on economic and political development with a specialisation in leadership, innovation and design. I miss South Africa, but being able to do my masters at a school I’ve wanted to go to for the past 10 years has been an unforgettable life moment.”
Once again, Shudufhadzo Musida proves that beauty, purpose, and education can go hand in hand.
