South African actress and DJ Thuli Phongolo has officially announced the release date of her very first EP titled AVANA. The multi-talented star shared the exciting news with her fans on Instagram, revealing that the EP will be released on Friday, 23 January 2026.
Taking to social media, Thuli expressed her gratitude to everyone who has supported her music journey so far. In her post, she shared heartfelt words, saying, “…..before I proceed with the rest of the rollout, I would like to just say THANK YOU to everyone who supported my first offering ‘HAI SUKA’ in any form, big or small. I truly appreciate it!”
She went on to explain the meaning behind her debut single, HAI SUKA, and what it represents. Thuli said, “HAI SUKA speaks to women who empower themselves, create their own paths and stand confidently in their independence. It’s about embracing your power without comparison, trusting your journey and taking pride in the woman you are building.”
Clearly excited about what is to come, she added, “I’m excited to finally start sharing more of what to expect on the EP. Stay tuned. AVANA-amkhaya. 23.01.2026.”
Following the announcement, Thuli received an outpouring of love, congratulations and excitement from fans and fellow celebrities. Book author Refilwe Modiselle praised the music, commenting, “It’s a beautiful song babe & a personal fave… I bump that song self.”
Actress and dance choreographer Bontle Modiselle also shared her admiration, writing, “Yoh you look incredible mamas. This dress?! Shu.” Other supporters joined in, with Kgosilesego commenting, “Congratulations on everything! Damn…” while Davidblaqrsa added, “Thank you for letting us see your dream through.”
This EP has been a long time coming for Thuli. Back in October 2025, she opened up about the project and her journey into music ownership. She shared, “Recently, I founded AVANA Records, a home for my music journey and the future voices I hope to champion. My first EP, AVANA, is a celebration of this new chapter.”
Thuli introduced the EP through her latest single Hayi Suka, featuring Nia Pearl, Leandra.Vert and Kay Invictus. The single was released on Friday, 31 October 2025, and quickly gained attention for its powerful message and strong collaborations.
With AVANA set to drop soon, fans are eagerly waiting to hear more from Thuli Phongolo as she continues to grow and shine in the music space.
