Nomzamo Mbatha Calls for Immediate Arrest After Hairstylist Suffers Horrific Abuse

South African actress and human rights activist Nomzamo Mbatha has spoken out in anger and heartbreak after a Durban-based hairstylist was brutally abused by her partner. Mbatha used her social media platform to call for urgent action and justice, saying she could no longer stay silent while another woman suffers.

Taking to Instagram, Mbatha shared an emotional message that showed just how deeply affected she is by the situation. She wrote: “My blood is boiling. My heart is broken. And I am LIVID. As we speak she is currently in ICU with burn wounds on her face and body attained from trying to FIGHT for her freedom from this CRIMINAL (last slide).”

The actress revealed that the victim is Snenhlanhla Mthembu, a Durban-based hairstylist whom she describes as being like a younger sister to her. Mbatha explained that Mthembu has been quietly enduring domestic violence for months. “This sweet girl @nenezanemthembu @sne_neneza_mthembu is like my baby sis and is a Durban based hairstylist she has been silently battling domestic violence for months and my heart breaks that this is what she has been enduring,” she shared.

Mbatha did not stop there. She demanded immediate action from law enforcement, calling on South Africans to put pressure on the police. “We need the POLICE to ACT NOW!!! ARREST HIM IMMEDIATELY. JAIL AND JUSTICE. @sapoliceservice_za – please tag them in the comments and apply pressure!” she added.

Snenhlanhla Mthembu also took to her own Instagram account to share her painful story. In a series of posts and stories, she detailed the abuse she says she has suffered at the hands of her partner. In one of her messages, she wrote: “This is my final attempt for a call for help and try and arrest this monster who has been abusing me physically from the day we started dating.”

She further claimed that she had tried to seek help several times, but nothing changed. “I’ve opened 4 cases with fail because no police gets near him and ofcos he’s father will bribe he’s way out but today I’ve had enough. Nizokholwa when he kills me? How do we explain four case numbers,” she said.

Mthembu also shared that she was assaulted again and reached out to the police, but no one came to help her. “I was assaulted again last night and I called the police but no one ‘again’ came to my rescue,” she wrote. She explained how she often hid the abuse from her clients, saying, “I’ve lied countless times after every abuse to my clients and always said different excuses because I was and still always bruised up.”

She posted images showing her injuries and shared that a bat was used during one of the assaults, stating: “This was what was used to assault me.”
