Former Miss South Africa, Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni and her husband, Dr Musa Mthombeni decided to welcome in 2026 in style as they visited the Big Apple.
Taking to Instagram, they shared a funny reel, showcasing their travels from SA all the way to New York as they crossed over to 2026.

The Mthombeni’s are famously known for their beautiful travel content and fashion content as well mostly from Liesl.
During the New York trip she definitely served streetwear fashion and layered her outfits so nicely for the cold weather.
In case you don’t know, streetwear fashion is a style that lets you blend casual with comfort and luxury pieces that makes your outfit stand out.
Streetwear fashion is also heavily influenced by the 90s hip hop music scene, where rappers used to wear casual jeans and t-shirts that were baggy but their outfits were incorporated with heavy jewellery and expensive sneakers, making them standout.
Liesl shared two streetwear inspired outfits, so far, that she has worn during the New York trip.
For her first outfit, she wore dark blue baggy jeans, a nude polo-neck with a brown fur coat and paired the outfit with white and cream New Balance sneakers.
To elevate your outfit, of course you need accessories and that is exactly what Liesl did with her outfit.
She finished off the outfit with a grey cap, black leather gloves and a brown leather Coach purse.
“I couldn’t choose a top 3 so I just posted 10 shots taken by amazing husband. He’s smart cause he’s starting off 2026 with so many wallpaper options already.

Her second look a black and white colour co-ordinated outfit as she wore black polo-neck, black cap and black leggings.
She paired the all black outfit with white sneakers and a black and white coat.
The beauty queen accessorised her outfit with a Yves Saint Laurent black purse with black leather gloves.
