Radio host, television producer, actress and musician Relebogile Mabotja is ending her year on a high note after winning a Telkom Radio Award in the Commercial category for Best Talk Show. Her popular weekday programme, 702 Afternoons with Relebogile Mabotja, continues to grow in influence, and this latest win shows just how much listeners appreciate her voice, her team, and the conversations she leads.
Relebogile proudly shared the good news on social media, posting a picture and expressing how thankful she feels for the recognition. She wrote, “Thank you God!!! I am so so proud of this @saradioawards achievement. My second one but a win for what I do well, which is Talk! God is not playing about me this year! My awesome team…Pachida and Abel… We did it!!! Thank you @talkradio702 and all of the #702Afternoons family!”
Her message was filled with excitement, gratitude, and pride — not only for herself but also for the people who help her bring the show to life every day.
Speaking to Sapr Africa, Relebogile explained that the achievement is not hers alone but belongs to everyone involved in the show. She said, “This nomination is a shared achievement. 702 Afternoons is a living, breathing community, and I am only one part of it. I am carried every day by my incredible producers, Pachida Mabisi and Abel Mabelane, whose talent and dedication shape the show behind the scenes.”
She went on to highlight the important role of the listeners who tune in daily. Relebogile added, “Our listeners are equally central to this honour. Their willingness to question, share, laugh, cry and engage is what creates the spirit of the ‘702 Afternoons family’. Being recognised in the Best Talk Show category affirms the effort we pour into making every conversation meaningful and human, and I am deeply grateful for this acknowledgement.”
Relebogile also reflected on how special this year has been for her career. She posted another message celebrating all the awards she has collected in 2025 so far, proudly saying, “An award-winning Mama!!! I am so proud of myself. I need to update my trophy and certificate collection pics coz it’s been quite a year! Wow!!! 2025 you beauty.”
