Actress and content creator Lerato Nxumalo is celebrating a major milestone as her new clothing business, blaHoody, continues to grow and gain support across South Africa. The star recently took to Instagram to reflect on her journey, sharing heartfelt words about faith, courage, and stepping into her purpose.
She posted, “The vision God gave you is only for you to understand. This is what walking in obedience looks like. Heck if you’ve ever started a business you know this journey isn’t easy! So much goes into it and some days we don’t feel like showing up, but I’ve learnt to show up with obedience not EMOTION. So excited for our @shopblahoody summer drop. Set your alarms! It’s almost here. Thank you Jesus for the strength and courage to carry this vision. I believe in this dream and I believe I was created to be extraordinary. My baby is growing.”
Her excitement comes only a few months after launching blaHoody in July 2025. The 26-year-old star introduced her brand as a fresh and cozy clothing line focused on oversized, warm hoodies made from soft, plush fabric. The idea of blaHoody is simple but clever — a mix between a “blanket” and a “hoodie,” designed to keep people stylish while staying warm and comfortable.
When she first announced the business, Lerato opened up about the fears and faith behind her decision. She wrote, “I’m terrified but excited. I’m jumping and trusting God. Next week, I’m launching my very first business, blaHoody. A dream born from countless late nights, prayers and the desire to create comfort and warmth for myself and you. I’ve never done anything like this before and some days the fear feels bigger than me. I’m still doubting myself. But I know the God who called me is bigger still.”
She continued, “I’m trusting God with every step, every sale and every moment of doubt. Here’s to stepping out of my comfort zone and into my purpose. Here’s to building something for myself! @blahoody is coming. And I can’t wait to share it with you all. ‘Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established.’ – Proverbs 16:3. One day I’ll look back and say ‘wow it all started in my garage lol!’ Thank you guys for the continued support, I’m thee Lerato Nxumalo because of you.”
The support was immediate and overwhelming. Shortly after announcing the launch, Lerato shared her shock on Instagram Stories, revealing, “Like are you kidding me rn ???!???!?? I’ve been soft launching on my stories but we just gained over 2K more followers in 30 minutes.”
Today, the blaHoody Instagram page has already passed 10 000 followers, proving that her brand is resonating with fans. She added emotionally, “I’m literally shaking and crying rn. Seriously do not know what I did to deserve such a loyal, supportive online family. I’m freakin’ scared but you guys always show up for me.”
With her summer drop on the way and her business growing every day, Lerato’s journey is a reminder of how faith, courage, and community can help turn a dream into reality.
