Igbo legendary singer, Theresa Onuorah, has shared some new photos with the popular record label executive and music producer, Larry Gaaga, whom she described as her biggest son. She said that it was the first time she was visiting him this year.
In her caption, she wrote – “Guess what? I went to see my biggest son today for the first time this year, and as usual, he swept my feet with enough gifts. Thanks for all you always do. I appreciate, son.”
The singer added that Larry Gaaga quickly dropped a sweet sound for her, and she replied him immediately. She urged her fans to expect a pleasant surprise from them soon. She also shared videos from a music studio, and it is obvious that she is working on a new song.
A few days ago, she had disclosed that she is cooking something for the year, and promised that it will be greater and sweeter.
Larry Gaaga has played a huge part in Theresa Onuorah’s career in recent times. After featuring her in his hit song “Egedege” alongside Flavour and Phyno, she started being in demand again in the entertainment industry.
Theresa Onuorah enjoyed a good dose of fame in the 80s and 90s with her Egedege music among the Igbo people in the South-East, but the Egedege sound did not have widespread acceptance outside Igboland, probably because many considered it to be too spiritual and fetish.
But last year, Larry Gaaga took up the Egedege sound and refined it in a way that contemporary music lovers could appreciate. The song became a national hit, and brought the traditional Igbo music genre into the mainstream. And it was interesting to see Theresa Onuorah back in action again.
She is back in the studio again, and she has Larry Gaaga involved in it. We are hoping that the song she is working on will be a big one.
Please feel free to drop some words for her.
