Asante Kotoko’s unbeaten record this season comes under a severe test today when they cross swords with New Edubiase at the Baba Yara Stadium in their Glo Premier midweek clash.
Coincidentally, it was Edubiase that applied the brakes on the Porcupine Warriors when they were in full flight last season in their week nine fixture, beating them 1-0 in Bekwai, courtesy Emmanuel Baffour.
But that seems a remote possibility in today’s encounter, taking into consideration Kotoko’s form lately, snatching all three away points from Tema Youth, and their quest to guard against their invincibility makes it a tall order for the Abdul Salam Yakubu men.
Edubiase have not been impressive this season, losing as many as four games and winning just three, which calls into question their claim to stopping Kotoko as they did last season.
Hearts of Oak’s current form equally faces test as they journey to Tema to battle resolute Amidaus Professionals.
Hearts humbled Amidaus with a 3-0 win in their pre season exercise in Accra, giving them a psychological advantage, but the home side, with nine points and occupying the eleventh position, have proven to be highly unpredictable.
When the least was expected of them at the T&A Park in Tarkwa, they managed a 2-2 results against dethroned leaders, Medeama four days ago, making them potential trouble causers to the David Duncan men.
Elsewhere, Ashgold will stay home to face Medeama, with bottom placed RTU, who are serving a home ban, hosting free scoring Ebusua Dwarfs in Accra.
Wounded Tema Youth will play as guests of Liberty Professionals, while Chelsea welcome All Stars at the Golden City Park.
At Kpando, Heart of Lions will host Berekum Arsenals with King Faisal playing as guests of current leaders Aduana Stars.
