Klinsmann calls in 20 players in for Russia friendly

Goal :    Jurgen Klinsmann has brought in 20 players for the United States team’s midweek friendly against Russia in Krasnodar.

The team is made up almost entirely of European-based players with only three members of the squad coming from MLS teams.

Juan Agudelo is the most notable domestic inclusion – and a bit of shock as he is coming off a down season for Chivas USA – with the only other MLS players on the roster being goalkeepers Nick Rimando and Sean Johnson.

Tim Howard, Micheal Bradley, Jermaine Jones, Carlos Boanegra and Herculez Gomez will all make the trip, giving the USA a strong veteran core even with the notable absences of Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan.
