Presidential candidate for the NPP Nana Akufo-Addo has said that President John Mahama should be an apostle of the free SHS policy he (Akufo-Addo)is promising Ghanaians if voted into office to the electorate, instead of kicking against it.
Nana Addo noted that, President Mahama enjoyed free free Secondary education when his father, who was then a minister of state under the Kwame Nkrumah administration, took him to the North to take advantage of the free secondary education even though his father could have afforded his fees at Achimota.
He was addressing a rally in Kumasi as part of his tour of the Ashanti region and also to introduce the party’s candidate for Asokwa constituency, Patricia Appaih Agyei to the electorate.
He questioned President Mahama’s claims of being caring and working for Ghanaians, when he (Mahama) and at the same time oppose such a policy.
When she took her turn, the Parliamentary candidate for Asokwa Madam Patricia Appiagyei told the crowd “to believe in what Nana Addo had told them and vote for him massively to enable him put things right and make their dream a reality”.
She said Nana Addo had carefully thought through the policy and done all the calculations and hence will implement it if they gave him the mandate.
The former Mayor for Kumasi promised to work tirelessly to continue the good works of her predecessor, Maxwell Kofi Jumah,if voted as Member of Parliament for the Asokwa constituency.
