Tunisia: African Senior Swimming Championships – Day 1 – Nation Wins One Gold, One Silver and Two Bronze Medals

Tunis — Tunisian swimmers won Monday one gold, one silver and two bronze medals at Day 1 of the African Senior Swimming Championships (all categories), held in Nairobi, Kenya.

Tunisian swimmer Wassim Elloumi won the gold medal at the 100m breaststroke event, clocking 1:04.01 while Ahmed Mathlouthi won a silver medal at the 200m freestyle event clocking 1:53.19.

The two bronze medals went to Zeineb Khalfallah (100m freestyle: 58.83) and Asma Sammoud (50m backstroke: 31.06).

Taki Mrabet ranked fourth at the 50m backstroke event (27.32), his brother Talel Mrabet finished fifth at the 100m breaststroke event (1:05.60) and Farah Ben Khelil ranked seventh at the 100m freestyle event (1:02.43).

Seven Tunisian swimmers (4 boys and 3 girls ) are participating in this African swimming championship held September 10-16 with the participation of 13 African countries.
