A UNITED Kingdom (UK) based Ghanaian nurse, Madam Alice Abugri has donated two sets of jerseys, hoses and 2 footballs to her alma mater, Garu-Tempane Senior High School in the Upper East region.

The presentation of the items, which took place after school hours at the school’s premises, was witnessed by teachers, students and some family members of the donor.

Presenting the items, Madam Abugri assured the headmaster and the students that she would help them to excel in the area of sports.

“It is my fervent hope and ardent anticipation that this donation will go a long way to spur your school team on to several feats and successes. I believe that by actively participating in sports, you all will remain healthy and fit to be able to do well in and outside your classrooms,” Madam Abugri said to the students during the donation ceremony.

The UK-based nurse, who declined to mention the cost of the items, encouraged the student to work hard and be discipline. She added that if they combined these two with prayers, they would become successful people after school.

Madam Abugri noted that this would not be her last donation to the school, disclosing that the school would benefit from similar donations from her.

Issah Sannie Mahamah, the headmaster of the school, thanked Madam Abugri for the gesture and promised to put the items to good use.

He appealed to other old students of the school and the community to support the school so as to improve the standard of education in the area.
