Crunchsports : Chelsea are reportedly preparing to appoint Roberto Di Matteo as manager.
But according to the Daily Telegraph, Di Matteo has only been handed a one-year contract.
The 42-year-old guided the club to the FA Cup and Champions League after taking charge on an interim basis following the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas in March.
Reports in recent weeks had suggested the Blues were still unsure about giving the Italian the job permanently, with Roman Abramovich refusing to give up with his pursuit of Pep Guardiola.
But with Guardiola insisting that he will take a year-long sabbatical from football after leaving Barcelona last month, Di Matteo recently emerged as favourite to be in charge of the Blues next season.
