In-form Ghanaian striker Abdul Majeed Waris has targeted to end the season as the top scorer.

The 20-year-old has raked in 12 goals in nine matches for Swedish top-flight side BK Hacken.

The former Right to Dream graduate created history when he became the first Ghanaian player to score five goals in a single game in a top flight European League.

He is eyeing to end the season as the top scorer.

“Before the season started I said to myself I wanted to score between 15-20. That was the target but I think I can score more than that,” Waris told Accra-based Radio XYZ.

“I want to keep scoring so I could probably be the top scorer in the League.

“If you start playing well and scoring, definitely the chance will come. But I just want to do well. My club has given me the opportunity.

“I have to stay focus and whatever comes, will be credit. Anytime I play in a game, I tried to be the best player on the field.

“If I get a call-up, it will be credit for my hard work and I will still give up my best,”

Waris was left out of the Ghana squad that will play in the World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia next month.
