A political science lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kwesi Amakye, has described the NPP’s 2008 running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as incomparable among his contemporaries who are up for selection as vice presidential candidate.
According to Mr. Amakye, Dr. Bawumia stands tall among all other plausible contenders and stands a better chance of capturing political power for the NPP.
He said Dr. Bawumia’s popularity among the Ghanaian electorates makes him a better option that deserves selection. He told Citi News “there are so many positive reasons why Nana Addo would want to go again with Dr. Bawumia. ”
“The two of them are already known to the Ghanaian public, Dr. Bawumia’s youthfulness, his intellectual background, the tactical experience he brings and somebody like Dr. Bawumia would be to the best of my understanding a good individual to market. ”
He added, “If you have a Dr. Bawumia with you and you wouldn’t rush to take him then it’s your own problem. I wouldn’t really compare any other person to him, I think Dr. Bawumia stands far apart from any other person. ”
