Country Complies With ILO Recommendations – Trade Union Official

    Luanda — Angola has been complying with the recommendations of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) regarding the improvement of working and salary conditions of the employees.

    This was said to Angop on Friday in Luanda by the national secretary general of the Angolan Trade Union (UNTA-CS), Manuel Viaje, while addressing the opening ceremony of a workshop on international labour standards.

    According to him, the compliance with rules set by the ILO enabled UNTA-CS to always monitor and fight for the social living conditions of its members.

    The event aims at supporting trade union organisations in the strengthening of their capabilities at the level of International Labour Standards (ILS) and fundamental rights in the creation of trade union structures entitled to monitor the system of ILO international standards and the capacity of trade union organisation to outline policies.

    The seminar, to end on 2 July, was jointly organized by UNTA-CS and ATRAV-ILO regional Specialist and Geneva.
