Efforts by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State to drag the name of Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo into politics was rebuffed Wednesday as the Special Adviser to Governor Adams Oshiomhole on Political Matters, Hon. Charles Idahosa stated that the Oba in no way influenced the outcome of 2011 general election in the state in favour of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

The PDP Senatorial Vice-Chairman, Owere Dickson Imasogie in an interview with a national daily, Monday, had alleged that the Oba of Benin was instrumental to the victory of ACN in the polls as he was said to have instructed voters to vote for ACN.
