Striker Amadou Jawo got the better of his brother Omar in an all Gambian derby in Sweden.

Jawo is getting the attention he deserves in Elfsborg, starting from the lineup and though was not on target this time, as things stand; Jawo is guaranteed a firm spot in the team.

The move to be playing Jawo could be enough to wad off interest from clubs courting the Gambian.

Before a turnout of 7786, Elfsborg took the lead in the 30th minute via a Nelssson’s effort. But five-minutes later Omar Jawo’s Syriac leveled matters just ten minutes before break. The game wasn’t to end without a winner emerging and Elfsborg made sure the objective to close in on leaders Helsingborg is attained. Thanks to Hijimark’s second of the game in the additional minutes of the first-half.

Elfsborg second on the standing, five points below Helsingborg, are just in time to fight for the Swedish title but first thing first- they must leapfrog the current leaders and hope to be at the peak of the table for the rest of the remaining season.

Omar’s Syriac loss sees them sit at twelve positions in the sixteen team table.

Both Gambians were involved for the episode through regulation allocated time.

Gambian striker Joe Sise made a comeback for bottom place Halmstad after being out with an injury. His side was losers to top of the table club Helsingborg on 2-1 scoreline.
