The Special Criminal Court in Banjul, presided over by Justice Joseph Enwa Ikpala, has adjourned the criminal trial involving the state against seven accused persons to the 14th of July 2011 for judgment.
The presiding judge’s pronouncement came in the wake of the adoption of briefs by both the prosecution led by senior state counsel, Njaimeh Jallow, and defence counsel, Awjum Gaye and Uzoma Achigbue, on behalf of the accused persons last Thursday, 23rd of June 2011 before the said Special Criminal Court.
The accused persons, Joseph Okeke, Nonso Mbosah, Anuwa Ibiam, Nonso Adowa, Arinze Chukwu, Pius Patrick and Awa Touray are charged with the criminal offence of conspiracy to commit felony, abduction, stealing, obtaining money and goods by false pretence amongst other.
