Daniel Wilson
Apart from ‘melting’ ladies’ hearts with his looks, Daniel Wilson, back then, gained popularity with his hit songs.
Though Wilson still looks suave and turns females heads, music is no more his line of business.
Wilson turned a baker and took over his father’s business, Wilson’s Foods and Confectioneries.
The Original Bad Boy, as he is also known, resurrected a few weeks ago during the Presidential inauguration gala held in Abuja. He performed at the gala and got some people rocking to his old vibes.
Chris Mba
Chris Mba’s native song, Uchenna, brought him to the fore many years ago. He tried to remain relevant, playing some role in the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria for some years.
Then he tried to stage a come back, but his effort was not as successful as it was many years ago.
Felix Liberty
Give it to Lover Boy Felix Liberty, his Ifeoma is still a club banger, even today. The Lover Boy crooner rocked the 80’s with great songs like Ngozi.
The former pop artiste, after his wild life during his days as a singer, eventually turned a pastor.
Dizzy K Falola
Dizzy K Falola became born-again after living a wild life during his days as a singer back in the 80’s. With his monster track, Baby Kilode, Dizzy K became one of the most admired singers among his contemporaries.
After embracing Christ, Falola relocated to the United Kingdom, where he used his talent to sing for the Lord as a gospel artiste.
Though he is not as popular as he used to be, Dizzy K Falola will not be forgotten in a hurry.
Alex Zitto
Alex Zitto tickled everybody, especially the ladies, with his hit track, Tickle Me. It gave him fame and another track, Baby Walakolombo, kept him in the limelight for a long time.
However, when the ovation was loudest, nothing more was heard of Alex Zitto; he practically faded into oblivion.
The feeler reaching Life&Beat is that the once great artiste is somewhere in the US.
Alex O
Alex Okoroigwe, better known as Alex O, was hot in the 90’s. He took pop music to a high level, higher than the level he met it, stunning those he met there with his creativity.
With songs like Banana, Celebrate and Nwa Adanma, Alex O became the rave of that time… but not for long.
He joined his contemporaries and moved out of the shores of the country, first to Singapore. Now, we hear the young man is in South Africa and runs a digital film, audio and video production and post-production services company based in Johannesburg.
Evi Edna
Evi Edna was not a fantastic singer but then, she was among the few female singers who insisted the reggae genre of music wasn’t going to die. She was known for being among the first set of female reggae artistes in Nigeria, though she didn’t have tough competition as the other female artistes in her time geared towards other genres.
Some say the lady is in Nigeria, others say Edna, whose track, Happy Birthday, ruled the airwaves for a long time, is in Paris. But wherever she is, the lady will be remembered for her efforts in the music scene in Nigeria.
Bright Chimezie
Till date, Bright Chimezie is still known as Okoro Junior. His brand of highlife music brought him to the fore.
To practice what he believed in as a true African man, Chimezie packed his family from Lagos to his country home in Abia State.
He came out with an album recently, but somehow, it wasn’t commercially as successful as what he did many years ago.
