Esperance thrashed Pepiniere 2-0 yesterday to set up a second division play-off semi-final date with Nyanza this Saturday.

Vincent Hakizimana, who tops the division’s scoring charts with 15 goals, put Esperance ahead on the 30th minute before a second from Theoneste Harindintwali mid-way through the second half.

Nyanza bagged default points against Aspor who could be punished for walking off pitch. Aspor had won the first leg 1-0 but the walk-over handed Nyanza an effortless 3-0 score line.

Elsewhere, Sorwathe defeated Sec Academy 7-6 on penalties after drawing 0-0 and will now play the winner between Espoir and Stella Maris.The semi-final return legs are slated for next Wednesday.
