Somalia: 1000 Soldiers Complete Training Course in Dolow Ethiopia

    Dolow — Some 1000 Somali soldiers, who were undergoing training in Ethiopia, have completed the course as the ceremony of the conclusion was held on Monday in Dolow.

    Speaking at the ceremony, Abdihakim Hajji Mohamoud Fiqi, Somalia’s minister of defense, said that the soldiers are well-trained adding they are ready to take on Al shabaab fighters.

    The minister went on to say the Somali soldiers are heroes and are committed purging Al shabaab from the regions of Bay, Bakool and Gedo.

    He stated the trained Somali forces are needed to live their national duties as much possible as they could.

    For his part, Sheikh Mohammed Abu Libah, the deputy of Ahlu Sunna Waljama group in Gedo spoke at the ceremony and said that Ethiopia has made a lot effort to support Somalia, saying that Ethiopia is a part of Somalia development.

    Many soldiers for the TFG have been trained in neighboring countries of Somalia which has seen pushing the Al shabaab fighters from their key positions in Mogadishu and southern parts of the country in the latest offensive by the Somali government and AMISOM.
