Former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has made a come and get me plea to the Premier League saying he is ready to return to management.
Benitez enjoyed mixed fortunes whilst in charge of Liverpool, winning the Champions League in 2005 and FA Cup the following season, but failing to win the Premier League during his tenure – though he is still held in high regard by many at the club.
Still based on Merseyside, Benitez has been without a job since being sacked by Inter last season, and says he is ready to return to the Premier League with jobs available at Chelsea, Aston Villa and Fulham.
“I want to stay in England. I will not name clubs, but it is clear there are not many to choose from,” Benitez said in an article in Talksport.
“Something can emerge and, if not, I will be patient. The important thing is to choose well. The Premier League and I have a good understanding and respect.
“I’ve turned down offers from clubs from outside, but now my priority is the Premier League.”
Benitez has previously rejected the opportunity to manage Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, preferring to test himself again in the demanding Premier League arena.
