    Luanda — Programme Musongué da Tradição to happen this Sunday at Kilamba Cultural and Recreational Centre, here, will bring together former members of Jovens do Prenda band, with highlight to Chico Montenegro, Don Caetano, Zecax, Baião and Augusto Chacaia.

    According to the manager of the venue, Estêvão Costa, who was speaking to Angop, the event will also count on participation of musicians António Paulino, Dominguinho and Jaburu.

    Estêvão Costa stated that the event aims at making the public to remember Jovens do Prenda, as well as artists that recorded tracks with the band.

    Jovens do Prenda is an Angolan band-orchestra founded in Prenda district, in Luanda, and was the first Angolan band to be recognised internationally.

    Jovens do Prenda was established in 1968, when they were first called Jovens do Catambor and later on Jovens da Maianga, but in 1969 the group decided to use the name Jovens do Prenda as it is known until now.
