THE Governor of Oyo State, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Waheed Akin Olajide as Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
He also announced the appointments of Dr. Adeolu Akande and Dr. Festus Adedayo as Chief of Staff to the Governor and Senior Special Assistant (Public Communication) respectively.
Alhaji Olajide, 61, a chartered accountant, studied Chemistry at the then University of Ife, later known as Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.
He proceeded to bag a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Ibadan. The new SSG is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and was Managing Director of the University Press Limited.
Dr. Akande, 45, holds a doctorate degree in Political Science from the University of Ibadan. He was Deputy Editor of the Nigerian Tribune and lecturer in Political Science at the University of Ibadan. He was Special Assistant (Research and Communication Strategies) to the Vice President of the Federal Republic and a communications and political strategy consultant.
Dr. Adedayo, 42, holds a doctorate degree in Political Communication from the Political Science Department of the University of Ibadan. He was Deputy Editor of the Tribune and Special Adviser to the Governor of Enugu State.
Until now, he was Chairman, Editorial Board, of the National Life newspaper in Lagos.
All the appointments take immediate effect.
