Amina Haruna says she wishes the young men no harmAmina Haruna, the lady alleged to have been molested by students of the University of Ghana has said she does not wish harm on the students who allegedly assaulted her.

Amina was accused of stealing a laptop and mobile phones leading to the alleged assault on her. Her brassiere and underpants were shredded and even snatched away, leaving her stark naked for the boys to ‘do their own thing’ despite her pleas for mercy.

Passionate Amina told Citi News, Friday in a solemn voice that, “I am feeling bad for them. I am not feeling for them to go to jail because am looking at them like my brothers but they didn’t look at me like a sister when they did this to me.”

She however reiterated that she can never mete out such a treatment to anyone.“If it was me, I can’t do this to a female like me… because if you show the part of the female body, you have showed the part of your body too.”

Amina insisted that she personally identified the students who assaulted her. She stated, “I am the one who identified them…they said they wanted to rape me.”

Contrary to assertions that, she might have been under pressure to identify her alleged culprits, Amina stated that she was under no pressure and she did identify the students willingly.

“No one put pressure on me because the time they brought me, they arranged them (students)…when I saw them, I saw innocent people, I didn’t point them because I know that they were not among but I saw those who were among, they are those I pointed”

She vehemently denied ever stealing anything from the students stating that they rather stole from her. “They are those who stole my phone, my shop keys, money and my bag.”

Meanwhile, the Circuit Court, Friday, has granted the nine students who have been accused of assaulting Amina bail to enable them write their exams.

The nine students have been charged with four offenses; conspiracy to commit crime, assault by imprisonment, indecent assault and causing unlawful harm. They are to appear in court on May 30 for hearing to continue.
