Peacefmonline.com can authoritatively say that barring any unfortunate incident, former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings will finally end all speculations about whether she will be contesting President Mills’ second term bid to lead the NDC in 2012, by picking up her nominations forms at the party’s headquarters on Tuesday, May 3rd.

When that is done, it will further push forward the process towards fulfilling her presidential ambition.

She will be coming up against President Mills who declared his intention some 18 months ago.

Spokesperson for the Rawlingses and Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, who confirmed this on Peacefm’s flagship programme, “Kokrokoo”, also disclosed that the President of the 31st December Women’s Movement (DWM), will officially launch her campaign to lead the ruling party the following, Wednesday, May 4th.

It would be recalled that Mrs Rawlings resigned her position as one of the Vice Chairpersons of the NDC on Wednesday April 13, in a brief letter copied to the General Secretary of the NDC, the Chairman Dr. Kwabena Adjei, and Founder Jerry John Rawlings.

This was because the party’s guidelines prohibited any member in an executive position to contest the presidential race and at the same time occupy a position.

A statement from Nana Konadu’s Campaign Team
