Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson has indicated he could leave the club in the summer if they are relegated.

Robinson, 31, has been with Rovers for three years but could be willing to move on given the club’s precarious position towards the foot of the Premier League table.

When quizzed about his future, Robinson was quoted as saying by the Daily Telegraph: “That can wait until the end of the season as we’ve to concentrate on keeping Blackburn up.

“But as long as we remain a Premier League club, I will be here next season.”

Robinson, who has been relegated from the Premier League previously with boyhood club Leeds United, was keen to highlight the difference in squad morale to his former club.

“We were resigned to the fact that Leeds would be relegated, but I think there is a lot more resilience here and togetherness and a confidence that we will pick up a couple of results in the next week or so,” he said.

“Blackburn is such a big, strong club and the strength of the club means it relegation is not really worth thinking about.”
