Nigeria: Okpako, Dimaku Get U-23 Call Up

    National U-23 coach Austin Eguavoen has extended invitation to former Bendel Insurance and Kano Pillars midfielder Solomon Okpako.

    Okpako who presently does business for Greek side, Panionios is one of the three foreign newcomers ahead of the second leg first round All Africa games qualifier against Liberia this weekend.

    The 20 year old was instrumental in the Super Eagles team B winning of the last WAFU cup competition.

    Coach Eguavoen has also opened the door for former JUTH of Jos striker Fatai Kehinde who plays his club football in Romania with Astra Ploiesti. The 20 year old has made 10 appearances at the U20 level scoring six goals.

    Also invited is Hapoel Acre of Israel star Dimaku Tochukwu Fidelis.

    All three players are among ten foreign base players invited for the April 30th game against Liberia in Benin City.

    Others are Dele Ajiboye( Pontevedra-Spain), Nurudeen Orelesi( Dinamo Tirana- Albania) Edet Ibok (Atletico Baleares- Spain) Uchechi Chima (Leicester City – England)

    Nosa Igiebor ( Lillestrom-Norway) Ganiyu Oseni (Kieng Giang-Vietnam) and Nnamdi Oduamadi (AC Milan- Italy).

    According to Team Media Officer Arafat Aliu the players are expected to hit camp latest on Wednesday, April 27th.

    The First leg of the Nigeria Liberia encounter played in Monrovia ended 1-1.

    The Dream Team V will observe another rest day on Tuesday due to the state house of assembly elections holding nation wide.
