Palermo Drop Strong Hint That Pastore On His Way To Chelsea

Palermo chief Maurizio Zamparini had previously stated Manchester City and Roma, along with Chelsea, were interested in Argentine forward Javier Pastore, but now vice-president Guglielmo Micciche says the 22 year old is ‘very likely’ to join the Blues.

“We are talking about a great player who, in my opinion, is extraordinary,” Micciche explained to Radio Sportiva.

“There is no doubt that he should be sold for several reasons. He wants a big club and negotiations are well advanced with a very important team.

“His agent is working well and if someone pays the right amount we are happy to let him go.

“Very likely he will go to Chelsea but I think there are many other clubs of that level looking at the boy.”

Micciche ruled out any suggestion of a player plus cash deal for Pastore, adding: “We don’t want any players in exchange, it would be impossible because it would mean taking players of a level that Palermo could not afford.”
