Reports reaching Myjoyonline.com indicate that the vehicle of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Yaw Owusu Obimpeh was attacked by gunmen on Thursday night.
The unknown assailants reportedly opened fired at the vehicle near the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi shattering his windscreen.
Though it was not immediately confirmed if Mr Obimpeh, who was in the vehicle, was hurt in the attack, the incident has been reported at the KNUST Police Station.
