AFTER falling short in last month KCB Golf Tour-Kigali leg, the country’s ace golfers Jean Baptiste Hakizimana and Emmanuel Ruterana are targeting an improved display in next month’s KCB Kampala leg scheduled to run from July 6-9.

Despite playing on their home course and in front of their home crowd, Ruterana could only finish 6th while Hakizimana was further back in 8th place.

Ahead of next week’s tournament, the pair highlighted that it’s important for them to have enough practice on the Par-72 Kitante Golf Course- the venue for the four-day event.

“Our target is to finish inside the top five so it’s important that we get a few practice rounds under the belt before the tournament,” Hakizimana said.

Over 50 professionals from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi are expected to compete in the Rwf8m tourney.

Meanwhile, on top of offering to sponsor the golfers for the KCB Mombasa leg, the final round of the KCB Golf Tour, Serena hotel has also boosted the pair with a one-year subscription at the hotel’s fitness gym.
