Mrs. Annan, wife of the Deputy Minister of Trade and MP for KEEA, commended the efforts of Mrs. Comfort Darko, president and founder of the organisaton, for her initiative and selfless efforts to alleviate the challenges facing widows and orphans in the community. She said the ‘Better Ghana’ agenda of Presidents Mills would only be achieved through private and individual efforts as demonstrated by members of Komenda Widows and Orphans Movement.
As a patron, she pledged her continued support, promising to explore export avenues for the groups farm produce. The Komenda Widows and Orphans Movement, a non-partisan organization, was established in 2008 as a social platform to alleviate challenges facing widows and orphans in the community.
Its aim is to empower members to be self-sufficient and to encourage them to face challenges with dignity and courage by getting into farming, agro-industry and cottage industry.
