The relatives of a man who died under mysterious circumstances in Kitui have petitioned the police to probe the death. The body of Wambua Mwanduka, a livestock dealer, was found at Chipukizi bar in Makele market on June 23.

His brother Peter Ng’ong’a and uncle Francis Mbai cited foul play following the release of a man suspected to be behind the murder. The two claimed that patrons at the bar intimated to them that the businessman was killed inside the bar but the proprietor insisted that he was killed outside.

They claimed that police have done a shoddy job in unraveling the death saying that the man was executed in unclear circumstances.”We have not been able to get much help from police in Mutomo but even after reporting the matter to Kitui police, the officers referred us back to Mutomo. We feel something is being hidden from us,” Mbai said. When contacted the bar owner, John Ngong’a, said the man was found dead outside the bar after having drinks with friends.
