Vice President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama visited the Lizzy Sports Complex in Accra on Thursday to see at first hand facilities put in place by ex France captain Marcel Desailly. H.E Mahama who was unable to do the official launch of the multi-purpose sports facility located in East Legon two-weeks ago was taking through a personal tour by Marcel Desailly himself and other managers of the facility. The obviously impressed second gentleman of the Republic whose son incidentally uses the facility on a daily basis after school, commended Desailly for his foresight and urged others to invest in the direction of sports

Celtic have announced the signing of Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama from Germinal Beerschot, subject to a work permit and medical.

The club confirmed that they have agreed a fee and personal terms and now must wait for official ratification of the deal.

Twenty-year-old Wanyama, the brother of Inter midfielder McDonald Mariga, has long been a target for manager Neil Lennon, who made an attempt to sign him last summer but was rebuffed by Beerschot.

The defensive midfielder spent three years in Belgium with Beerschot, making 50 league appearances.

And since making his international debut in 2009, Wanyama has established himself in the Kenya side, playing in all six of their World Cup 2010 qualifiers.
