Augustine Hwata 30 June 2011 Zimbabwe's Warriors jumped 39 places up the table on the Fifa/Coca-Cola World Rankings for June with bullish coach Norman Mapeza yesterday saying the journey back to the top table of African football had just begun. The Warriors, who beat Mali 2-1 in a Nations Cup qualifier during the month under review, were the best performing side of all the national teams. On the last rankings in May, Zimbabwe were ranked 126th in the world, but the Warriors have now risen to 87th place

New Chelsea Coach, Andre Villas — New Chelsea Coach, Andre Villas Boas yesterday unveiled his back room staff. And there was no room for former Nigerian international Michael Emenalo.

Emenalo was assistant to sacked coach Carlo Ancelotti. He was appointed November 2010 with controversy trailing the decision by club owner, Roman Abramovich to impose Emenalo with little or no coaching experience on the Chelsea bench.

Villas-Boas appointed former Chelsea player Roberto Di Matteo as number two. Matteo was sacked by West Brom follwing a string of poor result.

But Villas-Boas stated that he was bringing in the Italian to add flair to Chelsea’s game. The Blues’ boss also brought in Jose Mario Rocha as a fitness expert and Daniel Sousa as head opposition scout, while Steve Holland, who won the reserve league with the club last season, will now work with the first team.

However, it was reported that Emenalo would be move to the position of sporting director. The move would mean two promotions for the former Eagles defender in the last 12 months. He spent his first three years as a scout before being promoted mid-way through last season to first team coach, following the departure of Ray Wilkins.
