Shareholders of a tea factory in Nyamira have resolved to contribute money to construct another tea processing factory. The new factory is expected to ease congestion at Nyansiongo factory.
The shareholders agreed to contribute half of the Sh371 million for the construction of the one line factory, according to the factory manager Pauline Oyugi. “Farmers must raise the equity which is half of the amount required to enable us get a loan to start the construction,” Oyugi said.
The board will sit and agree on the amount to be contributed by each farmer, said the chairman Christopher Nyakora who chaired the extra ordinary annual general meeting. Nyansiongo is one of the factories that pay farmers good bonus
