The right-back made his debut in the continent’s flagship tournament in 2002 in Mali.
Even though he has played in many tournaments for the Black Stars, Pantsil told the Oti Adjei Report that winning the Nations Cup next year could be his final target in a Black Stars shirt.
“The Nations Cup is coming up and it’s a must win trophy. For me personally I want a trophy,” Pantsil said.
“Who knows maybe after the Nations Cup I might decide not to play for the national team again or just give the chance to the young boys who are coming up.
“So it’s high time for us to achieve something, so when we say goodbye to the national team, our names will remain for long.”
Paintsil is Ghana’s most reliable right-back but other young players like Samuel Inkoom and Daniel Opare are eyeing his position.
