Garbaharey — Forces loyal to Somali interim federal government on Thursday said they seized a number of individuals who are suspected to have ties to Al shabaab movement.
Jamal Hassan Saney, the commander of Somali forces in Gedo region in southern Somalia their soldiers apprehended at least 5 people.
The arrests came after search operations in villages of Garbaharey town, the regional capital of Gedo, according to the military official of Somali government.
The security crackdown on Thursday comes days after Somali government forces condcting patrolling came under ambush attack from Al shabaab fighters in the region.
