Namibe — The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in partnership with the local interior department in the south-west Namibe province is promoting here a workshop on “Human Trafficking and Human Rights”.
To end on Thursday, the workshop is discussing issues related to definition of human trafficking, including “How traffickers control their victims”, “The various exploitation ways for trafficked people”, “Methods used by traffickers to control their victims”, “How to identify a case of human trafficking”, “Differences between human trafficking and illegal immigration”.
The agenda also includes discussion of topics on “The proportion and nature of human trafficking in the Southern Africa region” and “Why it is important to identify victims of human trafficking, among other topics.
The event is being attended by staff of the Ministry of Interior and organisations of the civil society.
