Vice president, George Kunda on Monday left for Malabo, Equatorial Guinea to attend the African Union (AU) Summit under the theme, “Accelerating Youth Empowerment for Sustainable Development” scheduled for June 29 to July 1, 2011.
According to a statement released by the Senior Private Secretary to the Vice President Kenneth Ngosa, Mr Kunda is today expected to participate in the Committee of 10 Heads of State and Government on United Nations Reforms meeting before attending the Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the union that would run from 30th to 10 July, 2011 at Sipopo Conference Centre.
Mr Kunda had been accompanied by his wife Ireen, deputy minister of local government and housing, Moses Muteteka, deputy minister of health Christopher Kalila and senior government officials.
He is expected back in the country on July3, 2011.
