Asmara — The Minister of Public Works, Mr. Abraha Asfaha, stated that the task of nurturing skilled manpower that could play vital role in the reconstruction of war-ravaged country was given due attention beginning in the days of the armed struggle for independence. The setting up of Wina Technical School in the days of the armed struggle fully attests to this fact, he added.

In an interview he conducted in connection with silver jubilee of the School, Mr. Abraha explained that alongside with the armed struggle, the EPLF exerted vigorous endeavors in equipping the youth with the necessary knowledge and skill who could make due contribution in the nation-building process in the post-independence period.

Noting that there existed exemplary teachers and caretakers who used to strive in transferring knowledge and know-how to the youth, the Minister stated that the students were equally working hard to demonstrate excellence in the course.

Mr. Abraha further pointed out that in the post-independence period, Wina Technical School registered noticeable development and is playing major role in the national reconstruction endeavors.
