Concord Times (Freetown) 25 June 2011 Freetown — Sierra Leone's striking duo Ibrahim Tetteh and Mohamed Poborsky Bangura again came to the rescue of their Swedish club, AIK Solna after the pair hit the target against Norrkoping FC in the Swedish Allsvenskan league. Two weeks back, the striking pair scored both goals to help AIK defeat Malamo FF 2-0 and on Wednesday they both teamed up again to defeat Norrkoping 3-0.

Nigeria’s team at the FIFA Women’s World Cup are in must win situation in their group A encounter against Germany on Thursday. And coach Ngozi Uche believes that his girls would not be rolled over by the Germans just like they did in a friendly game late last year.

After losing 1-0 to France Sunday, the Falcons are faced with an early exit. But according to Uche the Germans must have to win the game first. She stated that the Falcons still have everything to play for in Thursday’s game.

“I always say, football is a game. It’s never won or lost until it’s played. We do respect Germany. They are a good side. But I still believe in the game of football anything can happen. There is no team that cannot be beaten,”

“We cannot give it to Germany now until that match is played. We intend to give it a good fight.”

Team captain Pepertua Nkwocha added that the Falcons will not sit back and let the Germans run the show: ” We’ll now have to attack more against Germany, and we’ll also have to play more as a team and talk to each other more on the pitch,”

French coach Bruno Bini also warned the Germans not to underrate Nigeria.

“It’s not done for Nigeria. They are a very good team. Nigeria will torture a couple other teams,” said Bini.

The Germans beat Canada in their opening match. They will be hoping for a win against France and if that happens, Nigeria could still remain in contention if they get a good result against Germany.
