Narok leaders yesterday demanded the arrest of an administration police officer who allegedly killed of a potato farmer last week. The body of Kareithi ole Nkako, 17, was found dumped near Wafo Trading Centre, about 50km from Narok Town on Wednesday.
Led by councillors Nkoibon ole Metian and Koinet ole Esho, they said it is wrong for the officer to continue to enjoy freedom while the family of the deceased is suffering.
Nkoibon claims that the officer called Nkako from his house at around 3am. “We have watertight evidence that the officer killed the young man as he has been living in fear. They took him from his house shot him several times in the head,” said Nkoiboni, who is also the finance chairman of Narok County Council.
Narok Police Boss Peterson Maelo however said that Nkako was a criminal. “The suspect resisted arrest and started fighting the officers as he was among five thieves nabbed stealing,” Maelo said.
