Protesting students of Lagos State University on Tuesday stalled Governor Babatunde Fashola’s visit to the school as they lamented the lack of basic amenities in LASU.

Fahola, who also marked his birthday on Tuesday, was in LASU main campus, Ojo, Lagos-Badagry Expressway, to inspect some state sponsored projects in the school.

The students, who carried many placards, insisted that the governor must listen to them after he had inspected the project in Faculty of Social Sciences. They refused to backdown grounds until the governor indicated his willingness to dialogue with them.

Some of the placards that the students displayed read; “we are tired of Acting VC; we are in need of VC; give us bursary and help LASU now” among others.

One of the students, who did not identify himself, told the governor that the institution lacked basic amenities such as good restaurant, toilets and seats in the classrooms.

He said, “We all cast our votes for you. We believe in you; please help us.”

In his response, Fashola stated that he was in the school because he was concerned and also wanted to see things for himself.
