Lagos State House of Assembly will, today, commence the screening of about 37 commissioner-nominees forwarded to it by Governor Babatunde Fashola for approval.

It will be recalled that Fashola had, weekend, sent the list of commissioner-nominees to the House for approval and confirmation.
Initially, the list had suffered a setback following alleged exclusion of names forwarded by Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, party leadership to the governor.

However, the issue was settled after the leader of the party and immediate past Governor of the state, Senator Bola Tinubu, intervened and  prevailed on the two parties to harmonise the list.

The lawmakers will be having an emergency sitting to either confirm or reject the nominees forwarded to the House by the Governor.
The House, which will be resuming from recess on July 4, is reconvening today to screen some of the nominees, who had been told to come along with their credentials and other documents for vetting.
