Luanda — The Vice-Minister for Public Administration, Employment and Social Security, Sebastião Lukinda, urged on Tuesday in Luanda the companies to create better working

conditions for their staff, and thus avoid accidents at workplaces.

Sebastião Lukinda said so to Angop, while addressing the opening ceremony of the workshop on “New challenges of safety and health at work”, held by the General Labour Inspection (IGT) through the Ministry of Public Administration, Employment and Social Security (MAPESS) in partnership with International Labour Organisation (ILO).

According to him, an increase of accidents and diseases rates at workplaces has been recorded in the country and therefore it is needed to reverse this scenario through the betterment of working conditions.

On the other hand, Sebastião Lukinda appealed for the commitment of the participants during the training, so as to teach their knowledge to other people.

The meeting, to end on Thursday, is aimed at securing the participation of the social partners in the fulfilment of the main objectives and challenges of safety and health at workplaces, as well as exchange of experiences with experts from various fields of activities.

The workshop is also aimed at enabling the adoption of more effective methods and materials in the field of safety and health at workplace.

The event was attended by labour inspectors and heads of human resources departments of oil, civil engineering and mining companies, among others.
