Dar Es Salaam — National The national women’s team, Twiga Stars, will embark on their Cosafa mission against favourites Botswana on July 2 at Gwanzuru Stadium, Zimbabwe.

Twiga Stars, who are busy shaping up in the city for the Cosafa event, are in Group A together with the hosts Zimbabwe and Lesotho.

The Cocafa championship involves teams from the Southern part of Africa, but Tanzania will participate as one of the invited guests.

For the Twiga Stars, the championship will serve to hone their skills ahead of the All Africa Games that will get underway in September in the Mozambique capital of Maputo.

Should the national team perform better in Zimbabwe, it would provide the needed psychological boost ahead of the Maputo Games.

According to the fixtures, the semi-final stage will start July 7 pitting two teams from each group. The final will be played two days later.

The other Group comprises: South Africa, Zambia, Mozambique, and Malawi.
